History Of Bahawalpur

According to the 2019 census, the population of Bahawalpur is around 2.5 lakh people.

It was conquered by Sadiq Muhammad Khan Abbasi (1) in 1727 and his first darul Khilafah was built in Ullahabad, 20 km from Liaquatpur.

In 1739, Sadiq Muhammad Khan Abbasi was given the title of Nawab by Nadir Shah Durrani.

In 1748, "From Allahabad to Bahawalpur" was settled.

In 1774, "From Allahabad to Bahawalpur was made Darul Khilafah".

Department of Health and Dispensaries was created in 1867.

Noor Mahal was built in 1875.

In 1878, a train bridge was constructed on the Sutlej River, which is 1.5 km long.

S.E College was founded in 1886 and degree class was started in 1892.

In 1892, a commemorative Jubilee Hospital was built at Bhawalpur on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria's reign.

It was in 1906 that The Bhawal Victoria Hospital was built as a memorial to Queen Victoria.

The first military hospital was built CMH 1911.

In 1926, the first medical college in the subcontinent was built where free medicines were given to people except all the students of Bahawalpur.

In 1928, a bridge was built on the River Sutlej, along with head of selmanki + head Islam + head panjand.

Victoria Hospital was further expanded in 1930 and the first X-ray department was created in 1938.

On completion of nawab Sadiq education in 1924, Vice Roy assigned powers to Nawab.

Central library was created in 1924.

Islamia University was created in 1925 and its first name was Al Sadiq College.

From 1927 until the establishment of Pakistan, Mr. Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal were the legal advisors of Bahawalpur state.

Jamia Masjid al-Sadiq was founded in 1935 and famous poet Ghulam Muhammad Ghotvi used to pray his moment here till his death.

In 1943, Aziz Rehman Aziz first translated and interpreted Khawaja Ghulam Farid's words in Seraiki, which was printed officially.

On October 10, 1947, Nawab Sahib annexed his state to Pakistan in the spirit of friendship and selfless goodwill of Quaid-e-Azam.

Since 1952, a man who went on Hajj was given three months advance salary and leave, and his residence and food in Saudia was the responsibility of the Bahawalpur government.

Paramedical College was formed in 1952.

In 1954, sadiq public school was built with an area of 450 acres and is the first such large school in Asia.

From the Nawab's rule until the 1960s, men were strongly discouraged from going out bare-headed, at which time Turkish caps were the most commonly worn. Along with all these, the silk produced in Bahawalpur in the 19th century was known as number one in the world.

At present, Governor's House Lahore and King Edward, Medical College Lahore Acheson College's Jamia Masjid, Hostel and GOR (Bahawalpur House) etc. are gifts prepared by Nawab Sadiq Muhammad Khan (V).

In addition, Nawab Sadiq Muhammad Khan (I) formed part of Bahawalpur by liberating the state of Jaisil Mir state in India from Bikaner Kalhora (one caste) and shikarpur, larkana, sivastan, hyderabad in Sindh was also conquered by the same Nawab from the Sikhs.

This is Bahawalpur, whose Nawab sahib merged it with Pakistan and gave Pakistan moral and financial assistance and the first salary of the whole of Pakistan was run by Bahawalpur.
